Do you still remember the story of Jack and Rose in “Titanic” big movie which ever hit Box Office several years ago? In fact this movie is a runaway success that takes the attention of people throughout the world for romantic tragedy on the sinking ship. There are few of titanic survivors which could recount their horrible moments during accident and Margaret Devaney is one of the survivors who clearly depicted the situation there with emotional statements.

Who is Margaret Delia Deveney? She was actually one of few titanic survivors that survived during agony and sorrow when the ship was crashed and drawn into icy water ocean by gravity. When the disaster appeared, she was at 20 years old and set to America to meet her relatives who already lived in New York. She was from Ireland and wanted to rise the standard of living to achieve an American Dream. She bought a third class ticket as it fitted into her own budget at the time. Margaret was actually a brave girl who wished to change her life into better and ready to go abroad with her two friends for making the dream happened.

She, as one of few titanic survivors, was with her two friends namely Kate Hargadon and Maria Delia Burns. A year before her death in 1974, she was interviewed about the accident and finally revealed that the cause of accident was an attack of iceberg by fast-speed Titanic. She summoned up a friend informed about the disaster and was ready to check the real condition at the rear of deck. After being warned, she was with two her friends got back to cabins for taking their lifejackets. When she went back to the lifeboats, the gate into the 2^nd class was unfortunately locked. It forced them to climb up the ladder. They put their life at risk when trying to pass through rear wall deck to save their lives.

However amid this hard effort, one of her friends suffered a seasick and couldn’t continue their plan. It made them stop to seek for the lifeboat. Yet Margaret decided to continue the pursuit and planned to get back after she found the lifeboat and set the seats for their friends.

Unfortunately, her effort was useless. After she found the lifeboat, she couldn’t get back to their friends because the turmoil pushed her into the boat and unable to get back into her friends. When the lifeboat was released into the icy water, it failed. She lent her knife to a man who was charged as a leader for cutting the rivet of ship. It was then released and all passengers survived.

After the rescue, she continued her life in New York and Married John J Oneil in 1919 and became a mother of six. A knife used to help all passengers of lifeboat survived was still kept as a reminiscent along with her third class ticket and a flag for expressing a gratitude to her help for successfully releasing the lifeboat and finally rescuing all passengers. There was a truly sad feeling when she, as one of titanic survivors, couldn’t get back to her two friends but life must go on though this decision kept her alive to decades.

The stories of the titanic survivors

The Titanic was the largest cruise liner of its time. It was considered to be unsinkable; it sank in the icy cold water of the Atlantic Ocean. It was one of the greatest and infamous tragedies in human history. Since then the Titanic survivor stories have touched the hearts of people all over the world. Its maiden voyage on April 10, 1912; the Titanic was carrying 2228 passengers on board among them 337 were first-class passengers, 285 in Second Class 721, passengers in third class.

Huge Titanic There were also 885 crew members. But it’s an irony of fate that among the 2228 passengers on board, only 705 were alive to tell the tragic story. From them, we learned about the Titanic survivor stories in details and of the sufferings of those who did not live to tell this nightmare story.

The ship’s commander was Captain Edward John Smith an experienced sailor. Accusations are that if he had taken some procedures instantly, the mighty ship may have been saved from its imminent peril, and many poor souls would have lived that day to tell the Titanic survivor stories. The captain of the ship died that day with his cruise liner. There were not enough life boats to provide everybody on the ship with safety. So the women and children got the first chance to board the lifeboats.

Milvina was rescued by the ship ‘Çarpethia’ along with her mother and brother. She lost her father, Bertram in that incident. Rest of her life she lived by telling the stories to the fans of Titanic. If any other rescue ship had come that day to help many more people would be alive like Milvina Dean to tell the Titanic survivor stories.

Rhoda “Rosa” Abbott is one of the survivors who lived to tell the Titanic survivor stories. She was the only female survivor who was rescued from the water. On that day when the titanic sank, she along with her two sons jumped from the ship to the icy cold water of the Atlantic Ocean. However, unfortunately only she survived. Eugene Joseph Abbott was 14 years and 15 days old. His body was never recovered. Ross more Edward Abbot was the other son. His age was 16 years. She was also rescued by the Carpethia.

The sped den families were one of the few people whose whole family survived. They all boarded on the lifeboat no 3. Eva’s heart was only seven years old when the tragedy happened. She and her mother survived, but she lost her father. The crew and the passengers of that ship helped cordially to give comfort to the surviving passengers of the cursed ship.

Titanic is the greatest name in the history. It was the biggest ship in the world that was started its journey on 10^th April in the year of 2012. This ship experienced a worst experience in her first voyage. She started for New York form Southampton of England on that day. However, after passing four days of her journey, she hit an iceberg on the way at about 11:40 p.m. which caused her sank within three hours. At the same time, when the ship was made, it was said that the Titanic was unsinkable. It could not sink for two or three days even if it had an accident. The worst possible accident could not sink her down within three days. Even so, she sank and left a part of history for us. Now the question comes, how did the Titanic sink?

After the sinking of titanic, many researchers have tried to find out the reason of this tragedy. At last, they come into the position that some material failure was the main cause of this quick sinking. Titanic was made so perfectly and the makers were so confident that they only keep 20 rescue boats on the ship where the total carrier of this ship was 22,000.

The boat was not enough even for half of the passengers. They thought that even if the worst accident happened, then the Titanic will be afloat on at least two or three days. These days will be enough to rescue the passengers of this ship by other ships. Unfortunately, the time was not enough for the passengers. The ship sank down within only two hours and forty minutes. Only 705 passengers were rescued in the next-day morning, and the rests of the passengers were in the sinking ship. They all were lost in the deep sea.

After sinking the ship, there was only one question in everyone’s mind, how did the Titanic sink? However, nobody could answer this question. Actually, the main cause was the material failure and the lacking of expertness and experience of the crews at the time of danger. The boats were not fulfilled even. There were many blank spaces in the boats. Actually, all the passengers were trying to make a space on those boats at the time of sinking. That is why the boatmen left the boat without filling it up. Furthermore, the passengers were given life jackets, but it was impossible to float at that time as the temperature was below 4 degrees centigrade.

In the year of 1995, there was a piece of Titanic body found in the deep sea. The specialists have analyzed and published the report as the material was not perfect as it was said at that time. The material had been lacking, and it cannot be afloat on a long time. They also said that there were not every materials present in that piece of metal those should have to present in that material to afloat. Actually, this tragedy has broken our hearts. We all should know the history of sinking the Titanic for telling it to our new generation as it is sure that they will ask how the Titanic sink did.

A Bit about the Last Survivor of the Titanic

In 2010, historians bid farewell to the last survivor of the Titanic. She was said to be the last known survivor. Some think that there might be others out there, but people are not really sure. So, who was the last known survivor of the Titanic?

The last known survivor of the ship that sank was Millivina Dean. She was ninety seven years old when she passed away. When she was on the Titanic, she was just a baby. She talked a lot about what she knew about the Titanic’s passing.

She had died in the hospital as she was taken there when she was having medical complications at the nursing home she was put in. It is said that the last time she was publicly seen was when she went to the convention for the British Titanic Society. Many were shocked to see her pass. The last time they saw her out, she was full of high hopes and good spirits.

There are some who find it ironic about her passing. She passed away on May 31. Some ask what is odd about that; well the Titanic was launched on that exact same date only ninety eight years ago. Who would have guessed that she would pass on that date? Many wonder how long the memories of the date when the ship left the dock plagued her. Many say that she probably remembered nothing, but some think that for an infant to be traumatized, she probably might think of something.

Dean was one of the lucky ones. She was aboard that boat with her mother and her younger brother. All three of them made it back alive. She was never told until she was eight years old that she was aboard that ship; that she could have been one of those. While Dean is the last English survivor, there was an American survivor who died just a few years prior to her death. This person was Lillian Aspund who died in May of 2006.

When Dean died, many were heart broken. However, much was learned through her. They have artifacts that they had recovered. They even had videotaped some of the stories that were told by the survivors. Many recall her story in particular as hers became somewhat famous. People were in luck to be able to get her to recall what she knew before time says it was too late to do so.

How the Titanic Sank: Is it Like the Hollywood Version?

Some people remember seeing that movie when it came out on the big screen. Yet, some people wonder if the Hollywoodversion is anything like the real thing. The answer is yes. There is a reason that they say it happened that way.

The thing about the movie is that they did as much research about the Titanic and what really happened as they could. The way that they did this was by computer reconstruction. They used computer programs to show how it happened that when the boat hit the iceberg, this happened.

They also had a few survivors who were able to help them with piecing together some of the things that they were lacking. This team was very fortunate with this as they were able to talk to them and learn about how people escaped and so forth. When they were able to do this, they were able to give many the type of movie that they were looking for. There are many people who cried at this, but they could never understand how that felt.

There were some who dove into the icy cold water just to get away from dying and ended up dying anyway. There were some who tried holding on as long as they can to things that were floating in the water. Those who were some of the immigrants could not get out due to the way that the water increased and how fast it flowed in.

The other thing that we have found was that some people could have been out of there safely and there could have been many more survivors even with how the Titanic sank if there were enough life boats. We got an account from a journal about what the captain was going through and how he felt the sinking of his ship he felt was his entire fault.

So, how did the Titanic sink? We know that it hit an ice berg. One child said that all you could see were ice bergs. Which one it hit was never known because there were so many of them out there. This caused the boat to split in half and then one section sank first and then another section sank then. This is what we know. There are some who can go more into detail about this, but for those who wonder how close the Hollywood account is, many will tell you that it is pretty darn close.

Titanic is the name of the biggest ship of its own time. It created a place in the history of the world. It was the only unsinkable ship that was made in the year of 1911. It started its maiden voyage in the year of 1912. However, unfortunately, this unsinkable largest ship sank at the fourth day of her journey. The Titanic started her first voyage from Southampton of England to New York on 10^th April, in the year of 1912.

There were 2223 passengers in the ship. After four days later of her maiden voyage, she hit an iceberg and sank within only three hours. The ship had first class apartments for the wealthiest people. It was actually a ship for the wealthiest people. There was a big swimming pool inside the ship, dinner places for the passengers, a great lounge and many more. Titanic was made only within two years.

Unsinkable Titanic Titanic was undoubtedly the largest ship at that time. It had a capability of carrying more than 2200 passengers. This was the heaviest ship at that time. It weighs approximately 46000 tons. It was quite incredible. The length of Titanic was about 900 feet long. It was about 92 feet wide, which was really an amazing figure. All the possible facilities at that time were available in that ship. It made a history. It took almost two years to build the ship. About 15000, workers had worked for making this ship. Can you imagine now, how big was the Titanic?

The construction started in the year of 1909, and it finishes in the year of 1911. It was a very hard work for the workers but their heart leaped up with joy when they saw their creation. The constructors of the ship said that it cannot be sunk. Even if it faced the worst possible accident, or if it hit another ship, it could be floated for at least three days. Even so, the ship sank and sank very badly with many passengers along with crews.

Actually, the incident was a very bad experience for the survivors. According to them, on the fourth day of her voyage, the ship started to go ahead with a high speed. It was about 11:35 p.m. when the captain saw the iceberg, but it was too late then to move away the ship from the danger. At 11:40 p.m., the ship hit that iceberg and about 300 feet of the body of right side was damaged, and the waters started to pour into the ship.

The main cause of sinking the Titanic very quickly was its material failure. The materials used in the body of this ship were not strong enough to float for three days after a bad collusion. Furthermore, there were lacking in the experiences of the crews to handle the danger periods that cause a huge destruction.
